Creating OData APIs in SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris)

OData (Open Data Protocol) is a REST-based protocol used to query and update data. In SAP Hybris, OData APIs are created using Integration Objects, which act as contracts between SAP Commerce Cloud and external systems — defining which data is exposed and how it’s structured.

These APIs are particularly useful when integrating Hybris with CRMs, ERPs, external portals, mobile apps, or third-party services.

We visually demonstrate the end-to-end flow:
✅ Designing an Integration Object via Backoffice
✅ Understanding EDMX structure and Data Entity modeling
✅ Exposing APIs using the Integration UI Tool
✅ Testing the OData endpoint with Postman
✅ Getting a live JSON response from Hybris
